A thematic analysis of reconciliation and belonging in claire keegan’s foster

This study examines the themes of reconciliation and belonging in Claire Keegan’s novella Foster using Reader-Response Theory, particularly the ideas of Louise Rosenblatt and Wolfgang Iser. The research focuses on how silence and ordinary domestic routines express emotional healing and acceptance. Rather than presenting reconciliation through dramatic events or explicit dialogue, Keegan portrays it through quiet moments, small gestures, and what is left unsaid. The findings reveal that silence functions as a meaningful emotional space where grief and care coexist, while everyday activities such as cooking and shared routines redefine reconciliation as emotional presence rather than spoken forgiveness. Keegan’s minimalist style encourages readers to participate in constructing meaning, making belonging an emotional experience rather than only a biological relationship.

Management of industrial work practice equipment to support vocational competency development at SMKN 1 Negeri Besar, Way Kanan Regency

This study aims to analyze practice-equipment management in supporting vocational competency development at SMKN 1 Negeri Besar, Way Kanan Regency. A descriptive qualitative approach was adopted using planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling (POAC) as the analytical framework. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation and analyzed across the four managerial functions. The findings show that equipment needs are planned through school deliberations, equipment use follows practical learning schedules, and basic management responsibilities have been assigned. Nevertheless, cross-program coordination, preventive maintenance, and inventory management remain challenging. The implementation summary indicates scores of 82% for planning, 78% for organizing, 80% for actuating, and 65% for controlling, with an overall average of 76%. Controlling emerged as the area requiring the greatest improvement. The study recommends phased digital inventory management, scheduled preventive maintenance, clearer assignment of responsibilities, and stronger partnerships with industry. Strengthening these managerial functions is expected to improve the organization and continuity of vocational practical learning.

Literary works are creations communicated to express the author’s intentions for aesthetic purposes. As a literary genre, poetry plays an important role in conveying human emotions and inner experiences. This study aims to analyze emotional progression in William Wordsworth’s poem I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud. The data consist of the poem obtained from digital sources. A descriptive qualitative approach is employed to examine the intrinsic elements of the poem, including theme, imagery, figurative language, mood, and point of view. The results indicate that the poem portrays a transformation of emotion from loneliness to lasting joy through the speaker’s encounter with nature and the power of memory. This study highlights nature as a significant source of emotional well-being and inner peace.

Sundanese culture in early childhood education: teachers' perceptions, obstacles, and strategies for learning

The purpose of this study is to examine the perceptions of Early Childhood Education (ECE) teachers regarding the introduction of Sundanese culture in Tasikmalaya City. The method employed is a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected using questionnaires, in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Respondents consisted of 64 ECE teachers. According to the findings, 64.1% of teachers strongly agreed and 32.8% agreed that it is important to introduce Sundanese culture to children in order to develop their local identity. The majority of teachers (82.8%) employed traditional games to introduce local culture, followed by folk songs (53.1%), traditional dances (37.5%), and folktales (17.2%). Obstacles faced in introducing Sundanese culture include minimal training for teachers (46.9%), limited instructional time (34.4%), and a lack of relevant teaching materials (15.6%). Teachers expressed a need for specialized training to help them improve their knowledge and skills in teaching local culture. This study recommends developing sustainable teacher training programs, providing teaching materials based on local wisdom, and systematically incorporating Sundanese culture into the ECE curriculum. These findings underscore the importance of collaboration among educational institutions, local governments, and cultural communities to develop a learning ecosystem that promotes Sundanese cultural preservation.

Ambition and greed in Barabas's character in Christopher Marlowe's The Jew of Malta

This study examines the representation of ambition and greed in the character of Barabas in Christopher Marlowe’s The Jew of Malta and explores the moral and social message conveyed through these traits. Barabas, as the central character of the play, is portrayed as a wealthy Jewish merchant whose excessive desire for power and material gain shapes his actions and drives the plot. Using a qualitative descriptive method and close reading approach, this study analyzes dialogues, monologues, and significant events in the play to identify how ambition and greed are constructed and how they develop throughout the narrative. The findings reveal that Barabas’s ambition evolves from a pursuit of economic success into a destructive desire for revenge and domination, while his greed manifests as an obsessive attachment to wealth as a source of identity and authority. These two traits operate in a mutually reinforcing relationship that accelerates Barabas’s moral decline. Furthermore, the study demonstrates that Marlowe uses Barabas’s character to critique moral corruption, social injustice, religious hypocrisy, and materialism in Elizabethan society. The study concludes that The Jew of Malta presents ambition and greed not merely as individual flaws, but as interconnected forces that reflect broader social and moral decay.
