Abstract

Literary works are creations communicated to express the author’s intentions for aesthetic purposes. As a literary genre, poetry plays an important role in conveying human emotions and inner experiences. This study aims to analyze emotional progression in William Wordsworth’s poem I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud. The data consist of the poem obtained from digital sources. A descriptive qualitative approach is employed to examine the intrinsic elements of the poem, including theme, imagery, figurative language, mood, and point of view. The results indicate that the poem portrays a transformation of emotion from loneliness to lasting joy through the speaker’s encounter with nature and the power of memory.
