Abstrak

The Tuk Si Bedug traditional ceremony generally functions as an expression of gratitude to God Almighty for abundant harvests and as a form of respect for Sunan Kalijaga, who spread Islam in the region. This study employs a qualitative method with an ethnographic approach aimed at describing and examining the tradition, understanding the community’s perspectives on its visual elements, and identifying the character education values embedded within it. Based on observations and interviews with informants, the findings reveal that both the static and dynamic visual elements of the tradition contain symbolic meanings that convey religious, social, and cultural messages to the community. Through an analysis of these visual elements, ten-character education values were identified and formulated as learning resources for people of all ages, namely religiosity, honesty, tolerance, discipline, hard work, creativity, independence, patriotism, social and environmental awareness, and responsibility. Therefore, this tradition serves as a contextual and applicable source of character education and has significant potential as a medium for transmitting local cultural values to future generations.
