Tantangan etika dan keamanan dalam pemanfaatan teknologi informasi di era digital

Abstract

This study aims to examine the ethical and security challenges associated with the use of information technology in the digital era and to analyze the relationship between digital ethics and information security. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method using a literature review approach. Data were gathered from various relevant secondary sources, including journal articles, scholarly books, official government publications, and reports from relevant institutions. The data were analyzed qualitatively through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the use of information technology presents various ethical challenges—such as the spread of misinformation, digital plagiarism, and the misuse of personal data—as well as security challenges, including phishing, malware, hacking, and data breaches. The study also reveals a link between digital ethics and information security, mediated by user behavior and awareness regarding responsible technology use. Information security requires not only technical safeguards but also support through digital literacy, ethical awareness, personal data protection regulations, and multi-stakeholder collaboration. Consequently, integrating digital ethics, information security, digital literacy, and regulations is essential to fostering a digital environment that is safe, responsible, and ethical.
