Abstract
Issues concerning the lips, hair, and skin such as chapped lips, dull and brittle hair, and rough, scaly skin frequently arise from adverse environmental factors and prolonged exposure to harmful synthetic cosmetic ingredients. This study investigates the formulation potential of POMPA Multifunction Healthy Pomade Balm, an innovative product combining lip balm, hair pomade, and skin moisturizer into a single compact packaging utilizing natural spices indigenous to North Sumatra. A systematic literature review was conducted by synthesizing 10 peer-reviewed articles (2017–2023) retrieved from the Google Scholar database regarding natural cosmetics. The literature review indicates that the synergy of fragrant pandan leaves, patchouli oil, citrus, and olive oil provides an abundant source of natural antioxidants, flavonoids, saponins, vitamin C, and essential fatty acids. These bioactive constituents effectively restore lip moisture, strengthen hair roots while preventing dandruff, and maintain cutaneous hydration. Consequently, POMPA represents a viable, sustainable, and multifunctional herbal cosmetic innovation for holistic personal care.
