The effects of job stress, work environment, and work discipline on employee performance among mie gacoan employees in Pekanbaru
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study examines the relationships of job stress, work environment, and work discipline with employee performance among Mie Gacoan employees in Pekanbaru. A quantitative cross-sectional design was employed using questionnaire data collected from 105 employees in September 2026. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling. The results show that job stress was not significantly associated with employee performance, whereas the work environment and work discipline were positively and significantly associated with employee performance. Among the predictors examined, work discipline showed the strongest statistical association with employee performance. Overall, job stress, work environment, and work discipline jointly explained 69.9 percent of the variance in employee performance. These findings indicate that consistent work discipline and a supportive work environment are relevant considerations for employee performance in restaurant operations. Job stress management remains important as a preventive and employee-support measure, particularly during periods of high operational pressure.
